March 24, Easter Monday:
Hey! You seem to be an infrequent visitor here these days...getting busy and preoccupied, I guess! :)
March 25, Easter Tuesday:
"I promise I will come with an english post soon :) "
Uh-huh... :p
You doing okay? You're worrying me a bit.
March 25, Easter Wednesday:
This is Billy's spring break and he is going away to see his Nana in Memphis for a few days...
The house will be lonely without him!
March 26, Easter Thursday:
Hmm. I'm running out of things to say about this post.
I could ask, "What was the book exhibition?"
How's that? :)
March 27, Easter Friday:
I guess I'll have to ask another question:
WHERE was the book exhibition? This post has been removed by the author.

Just missed the blog, so I thought I'd come by and leave a message, Arby! :)
In Al Mar'a
Nice! Congrats! :D.. that's really cool.
I remember muscati saying awhile back that Al-Mar'a magazine was looking for female Omani bloggers to interview them...
BTW, you mean Al-Mar'a magazine and not TV, right? :P
Congrats once again!
loooool Amjad, that shows how excited I was :p
I will correct it :)
Friday, January 25:
VERY COOL! I don't know Al Mar'a magazine. But it is thrilling to see you up there. Let's hope it brings you some readers! :)
But then...you will have to update more frequently! :p
Saturday, January 26:
I hope the "Storehouse of Creativity" idea will be able to come to fruition.
You have no idea until you are actually taking care of your own every day how much trouble a baby is. They are all consuming. You think you will have spare time here and there, but so often it seems like there is nothing! :p
Still, there are little cracks. And I hope you will be able to post a little about your experiences, that it will spur your "creativity". :)
^ I remember when one of my friends had a baby, she was so busy we wouldn't hear from her for months. Then when we find her online at last, she would suddenly have the 'Away' status on with a message saying: Baby woke up!
Gaaah! >_<
But still cute ^_^
Great to see you on Al-Mar'a! I hope your scanner works soon. :(
Sunday, January 26:
Just a wave!
Jeff, I know .. I am hoping that the new life will not take over the existing one .. I dont want to be those kind of mothers who cant go anywhere because of thier kids. I just pray I can do it!!
um khalid, inshallah will post more about pregnancy .. but I dont want this to turn into a pregnancy blog :p
Monday, January 27:
Oh, heck let it turn into a pregnancy blog for a while! It's what you are thinking about. And we read because we are interested in what's on your mind! :)
There's always time to do other things when you're thinking about them.
Tuesday, January 28:
So have you had any ultrasounds yet? If that's not prying too much...
Jeff,
I did an ultrasound when I was in week 9 .. last week I did one but the one my Dr had wasnt clear. She set for my an appointment on March 4th of the big colored one. I cant wait for that :D
Wednesday, January 29:
They are really neat aren't they? I remember when they were brand-new and really unbelievable. But they are still so cool...
Thursday, January 30:
Just a wave!
Friday, January 31:

Wow mashalla congratulations..

Monday, February 3:
Golly, I don't know what happened to my weekend comments!
Maybe they didn't register somehow. I need to remember to check and make sure they get properly received...
I THINK I might decide to give up the internet for Lent. That would mean that I would only be around on Sundays...just to let you know! :p
Tuesday, February 4:
Well, if you only see me around on Sundays for a few weeks, you will know why! :)
I hope they are good and blessed weeks for you...
ooh easter is back .. alright all the best in lent :)
Sunday, February 10:
Thanks!
Just popping by on my Sunday run.
Who knows? Maybe next week, I'll see a new post on UmQusai's Thoughts? :)
Sunday, February 17:

Hope you're okay, Arby.
Greetings from Lent Land in any case! :)
Sunday, February 24:
Ol' Faithful, that's what you can call me. Ol' Faithful!

Tuesday, January 22:

But UmQusai is not angry, I don't think...just obsessed... ;)
Okay
Yeah..She is obsessed a little bit with that!

We are waiting for more MOM-TO-BE

Um khalid, I am not angry but yah I realised I loose my temper easily .. so imagine how my BP goes at work .. I feel bad for the employees working with me lool
A7madino, Indeed its a gift. Beleive me, whenever I am happy and I am excited I try to stop and thank Allah .. because without his blessings I would never been here!

Sama, I didnt want to do a diary .. but with my mind being away and absent these days .. I guess my posts will be about pregnancy more and more :p
Wednesday, January 23:
Yes, I was just teasing about your being obsessed. ;)
Anyway, I hope you don't lose your temper with me! :p

Monday, December 31:
New Year's Eve! Almost finished with this one.
By the end of 2008, Qusai will be a strong and growing healthy baby girl (I assume she's a girl, since she's not a boy)! :)
I spent quite a bit of time walking and bouncing my sister-in-law's baby over Christmas vacation. It's tiring but fun! :p
Tuesday, January 1, 2008:
Happy New Year, UmBabyGirl! :)
Wednesday, January 2:
:)
What's that music all about? Can't quite catch the lyrics but the rhythms are cerainly snappy!
lool Jeff, its about a magician who fell in love with a female Jin. I said in the post that the song makes me laugh :)
I think its a tradition song or something from Dhofar. Not sure though.
Thursday, January 3:
Ah hah, falls in love with a jinn, does he? Aren't they made of fire? That's an ouchy, it seems to me.
"Look, but don't touch."
Friday, January 4:
Dinner tonight with a half-Arab and some quarter-Arabs.
Tomorrow, a Twelfth Night party.
Saturday, January 5:
Twelfth Night party. Scrambling around to clean and make things ready. Lots of guests and lots of children. But we didn't invite any jinns: we didn't want trouble! :p
Sunday, January 6:
And the party went very well, I thought. Everyone seemed to have lots of fun and left late.

Just a wave!
Wednesday, January 9:
So where did you first find this song?
Thursday, January 10:
So...how are you? You're not being a very enthusiastic blogger. That must either mean you are having lots of fun preparing to be a Mom or else you're not feeling too well...
Health update! :)
Friday, January 11:
I think your poor blog is becoming an orphan! :'(
Just teasing: take your time and come back when you have leisure...
Heeey all I am very sorry for abondoning my blog .. it wasnt intentional at all.. its just that the past week was a very busy one .. I had a course that lasted until 4:30 every day . and after that I went to abudhabi on wenesday and just came back today.

Monday, December 17:
Well, you can NAME him Flibbertygibbet, or whatever your husband likes, but you can still CALL him Qusai!
That's how several women I know from your area of the world handled it! :p
Layal,
أمين ومشكورة :)
Jeff,
oh no, Qusai will have two names .. I dont like that :p I will work on softening my husband's heart .. no problem :) and this all will be eaiser if it turned out to be a girl :D
Tuesday, December 18:
Ah, going to use your feminine wiles on him, eh? :p
Here's what you do. Get him to stay in the delivery room with you til after the baby is born. Afterward, you can turn to him, exhausted and covered in sweat, and say, "Darling, after all that misery, don't you think we could call him Qusai?"
Game, set, and match! ;)
Wednesday, December 19:
You haven't told us how you've been feeling through all this. How are you doing?

Short and sweet and totally incomprehensible! :p
Well, I'm very glad to see you posted, even if I can't understand it... :)
مشكورة قطوية :)
وإن شاء الله أتمنى أن أكتب المزيد حالما أخرج من فترة القحط الفكري الذي أمر به :p
Jeff, dont worry jeff I cant let you this way :) I will translate it: Its about a graduation party, where the girls were very happy that they've graduated from collage and thier parents were also very proud of them. One family got my attention. They were very simple parents, an old man, his old wife and a man in his thirties. I kept on imagining what they might be thinking, the man must be very proud of his daughter since she was taught in a language different than hers. The mother would think that the nights that she spent supporting her daughter while she is studying with an old lamp has paid off. The brother who didnt have the chance to complete his studies is happy his sister is getting the chance to get one now.
I imagined all this and a tear wanted to come, but I stopped it remmbering that its all in my imagination. But then, I saw the daughter coming to her parents kissing her father's forehead and hugging her mom and I realised it wasnt from my imagination and a hot tear dropped.
Dedicated to you :) http://www.flickr.com/photos/catism/2095901184/
Saturday, December 8, Feast of The Immaculate Conception:

Monday, December 10:
What is the job situation for someone like that girl today in Oman? Do you meet people like that at your work?
ذكرتيني بيوم حفل التخرج اه كم كانت الفرحة جميلة بعيون أبي ..
Tuesday, December 11:
A passing wave...
Wednesday, December 12:
How was it you were attending a graduation party?
الزرقاء وندى الجنة ألف مبروك على التخرج :)
Jeff,
The work situation is ok I think generally for pharmacist is good (it was pharmacy collage graduation). It was my sister's graduation too. :)
Thursday, December 13:
I was trying to think if I ever attended a graduation party...I don't think I ever did! :p
You Omanis seem like great partiers and celebrators. Do you think that's true or just an impression I get from my online reading? :)
Friday, December 14:
It's really starting to seem Christmassy around here now...it's just that time of year.
I was interesting to read about how much Christmas decoration and things like that there is in Oman...
من الجميل ان نكتب ونحن نسكن الابراج العاجية ولكن الاجمل ان نصنع قصة الكفاح بدموعنا وسهرنا . دمتم بود
Happy 37th National Day
Sunday, November 18:
Yay! Happy National Day to His Majesty and Omanis.
Thanks Jeff fot the wishes :)
Monday, November 19:
It's interesting that the National Day is so close to Thanksgiving! Are there customs that are followed on that day?
Tuesday, November 20:
I guess I don't know how old your Sultan is. Do you know?
Wednesday, November 21:
Guess who!
It's...
JEFF!!!
Thanksgiving tomorrow! :)
Thursday, November 22:
Happy Thanksgiving!
God bless. I don't know if I'll have the opportunity to get back a lot, so here's today's footprint. :)
Jeff,
No real customs are followed except a militry show .. in every 5 years there is a student show done. Ofcourse fireworks are done yearly in major cities.
Sultan Qaboos is 67 years old :)
Happy thanks giving to you :)
Friday, November 23:
Thanks for the wishes and the info! :)
Saturday, November 24:
A wave...
Sunday, November 25:
How often does the Sultan speak in public?
at least once a year .. in Oman's council. He goes in his road trips to the regions and sometimes he give a small speach there which is informal.
Hi Dear Happy National Day to all of us. I was planning to write myself about it, but :( Nice to see you around. Take Care PS/What a pretty pic!! :)
Monday, September 26:
Thanks! :)
Tuesday, November 27:
Wonder if there will be another post by UmQusai sometime... ;)
Wednesday, November 28:
Does the Sultan have palaces in the different provincial capitals? Or does he just have one in Muscat?
And where is that one?
Thursday, November 29:
When the Sultan first took over, I remember reading that he really like Gilbert and Sullivan operettas.
Did you ever see one?
Sama, I know, I loved the pic too :)
Jeff, I will write one soon, when I have the time :p
the sultan has few palaces in somether places .. but usually in his regional trips he stays in camps (tents). No I dont even know what are Gilbert and Sullivan operettas :p
Friday, November 30:
Don't worry, I wasn't pushing. I know you are busy! :) I was just letting you know I am eager to hear more from you.
Thanks for the info. Tents! Like the bedouin, hmmm...
You know what I would like to see? A family tree. It would be interesting to see who his brothers and sister are, who his first cousins, etc...
I'm not asking you to make one, but it would be interesting if there were one to look at.
Saturday, December 1:
The last month of 2007! How fast time flies...
Sunday, December 2:
What do you think the Sultan is doing in the picture you posted?
Monday, December 3:
Just a wave... :)
Tuesday, December 4:
I'm running out of questions and comments on His Majesty!
I guess I should read a biograpahy or something and get back to you... :p
Wednesday, December 5:
Does the Sultan wear dishdasha? And when does he wear military uniform?
Thursday, December 6:

Heavens! I wonder what that's all about...
Maybe its about sabla fundrasing thread :p
I was offline the past days and now its working perfectly with me!Jeff:
I'm not sure if there's an official family tree online of His Majesty's family, but his family's members are very well known - first cousins, uncles and so on. You can search for the Omani Royal Family on the net, I'm sure you will find some information and also search for the history of Al-Busaid family.
In the picture in this post I guess His Majesty was checking on one of the schools back in the 70s when he first held the leadership of the country. Back then he used to make sure himself that everything in the country was going alright, especially education & health services.
His Majesty usually wears dishdasha. He rarely wears a military uniform. Nowadays he only wears a military uniform in the military parade held in the National Days or in certain events.
oooooh, i can't wait to show this to my husband. we're in new mexico but his dream is to move to Oman one day and maybe retire their. I'm not sure how this will happen. I checked the housing market and it seems pretty expensive and I know we have to really get our Arabic together.
Every time he see the Sultan he feels proud for some reason and I don't know why. We're not Arab but something about a King in the Gulf that looks like a guy from washington dc makes him happy.
lol
Hijab,
Woow .. its very nice to know that people across the world admire Oman and HM. I hope you can realise his dreams one day :)
They truly do Princess. There is something about your country that makes people fill like home. His Majesty is a great leader.
I have a friend who is a painter, and became fascinated with your country also; she has just finished painting portrait of "Arabian Princess" and now is going to paint portrait of His Majesty . O Arby, you should see the “Arabian Princess “, it looks marvellous. By the way Princess do you think it is appropriate to paint a portrait of His Majesty without His permit ion? Elisabeth is going to give this portrait to His Majesty when visiting Oman next time.
What I know, that few painters do paint him and then give the paintings as gifts .. so I think it should be ok.
